The Savannah-Chatham County Public School System wants to empower every child to become a proficient reader and live a choice-filled life!
We hope to see your family at our annual Books, Blankets & Family Fun event to celebrate reading, literacy, and STEAM education in Daffin Park (1500 E. Victory Drive) on Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. There will be reading activities, vendor booths, music and games, guest readers, student performances, speakers, and the always-popular Teddy Bear Clinic. The event is free – and there will be food trucks on site if you would like to buy lunch or snacks. It’s fun for everyone! Spread out your blanket and enjoy the day!
Families, be sure to sign-in by 2:30 p.m. to help your child’s school win prizes. The top three schools with the most participation will win!
If your organization would like to apply to participate as a vendor for the event and engage with attendees through interactive booths and activities, you can apply here. Vendors will provide resources, demonstrations, or hands-on experiences that align with our mission to ensure every child becomes a proficient reader. Additionally, organizations can sponsor activities, volunteer as guest readers, or contribute in other meaningful ways to enhance the event experience. The application/registration deadline is April 18, 2025. Thank you for your support!
