Godley Station School offers athletic programs to all eligible students in sixth through 8th grade. Godley Station will try to host each sport listed based on participation and coaching availability. Football is played at West Chatham. Softball and Baseball are played at Rice Creek, based on player numbers and coaches. All students interested in participating in school athletic programs must meet eligibility requirements. A valid physical must be on file with the Athletic Director in order to try out for a sport. Each physical is good for 1 calendar year.

Any student interested in participating in one of the athletics programs at Godley Station must have a completed physical and athletics participation forms on file with Coach Smith prior to the start of tryouts.

Curtis V. Cooper Primary Health Care has a mobile unit that visits our school once a month and offers free medical services including sports physicals. Registration forms must be completed and submitted in advance to Ms. Janine Robles and Student must be pre-registered for the event. SCCPSS Athletics - Spectator Information for the 2025-26 SY

The new school year begins on Monday, August 4th, and that means school athletics ramp up just a few days later!  All the information you need to know to attend SCCPSS Athletic events is below.  Schedules should be posted on school websites and on the district’s athletics calendar in the upcoming weeks.

Safety and Security:

In the interest of public safety, SCCPSS has implemented the following security procedures for major district events including athletics.  Security procedures include the use of Metal Detectors and/or Handheld Wand Devices, Bag Inspection, and the enforcement of Clear Bag Requirements. 

SECURITY SCREENING NOTICE: All Persons and Packages Are Subject to Search Upon Entry Failure to consent or submit to inspection will result in denial of entry. 

NOTICE OF CLEAR BAG REQUIREMENTS: Guests may carry the following style and size bag, package or container into the venue

  • Bags that are clear plastic, vinyl or PVC and do not exceed 12" x 6" x 12"
  • One-gallon clear plastic freezer bag (Ziploc bag or similar)
  • Small clutch bags, approximately the size of a hand, with or without a handle or strap can be taken into the venue with one of the clear plastic bags

**An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection.

PROHIBITED BAGS include but are not limited to: purses larger than a clutch bag, briefcases, backpacks, fanny packs, cinch bags, luggage of any kind, nonapproved seat cushions or seatbacks, computer bags, diaper bags, binocular cases, and camera bags.

SEAT CUSHIONS/SEATBACKS: Non-approved seat cushions and seatbacks include large traditional seat cushions that have pockets, zippers, compartments, or covers. Seat cushions and seatbacks must be 16” or less in width with no armrests.

AGE RESTRICTIONS:  In the 2024-25 SY, SCCPSS began implementing a new admission requirement.

ALL CHILDREN UNDER THE AGE OF 15 MUST HAVE ADULT SUPERVISION FOR GAME ENTRY.

All children under the age of 15 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian to enter any SCCPSS high school athletic contest.  This provision will also include the following middle school athletic contests: football, track, and all playoff games.

  • Children entering a SCCPSS athletic contest are subject to age verification requirements (School ID with DOB, State ID, Driver’s License, Driver's Learners Permit, Valid Passport)
  • Identification will be verified by event staff prior to entering the security screening area.  Any child unable to provide identification when age verification is required may enter the game by purchasing a ticket and must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. *Parents/legal guardians (excluding SCCPSS staff who have their employee ID) must also purchase or have a game ticket for entry 
  • Signage is placed in areas of high visibility to remind families of age requirements for entry.
