School Uniforms

Tops must be solid navy, light blue, or white and may be polo-style shirts, collared shirts/blouses or turtlenecks. Shirts may have the school insignia, if one is available, no other ornamentation is permitted. Shirts must be tucked in. Tops must not expose any of the midriff, lower back or undergarments. Fishnet tops, halter tops, tube tops, strapless tops, tanks tops, spaghetti straps and other forms of transparent or revealing clothing are prohibited and should not be visible at any time. Oversized tops may not be worn.

School approved "Spirt-wear" tops may be worn daily.

Solid navy, black or khaki pants/slacks, shorts or capri pants (no knit pants, jogging or cargo pants; no zippers or pockets on pant legs). Pants/slacks must be belted and made of standard uniform material (cotton and/or twill). Pants/slacks must be of appropriate size, be worn at the natural waist, and not drag the floor. Pants should not be too tight. All pants/slacks, skirts, skorts, shorts and jumpers must have a finished hem. Denim is not allowed.

Solid navy, black, or khaki skirts, skorts, and jumpers/dresses. Plaid (blue & white) skirt/skorts are allowed.  Skirts, shorts, skorts, dresses and jumpers must be an appropriate length that maintains modesty and that provides sufficient coverage when the student is walking, sitting or participating in school activities.

All skirts, skorts, dresses and jumpers must have a finished hem. ​No denim skirts, skorts, shorts or jumpers allowed.

Coats and jackets must be worn open and unzipped while in the building.

Cardigan sweaters, vests, windbreakers or hoodless sweatshirts may be worn over uniform shirts if they are solid colored with no emblem or insignia.  Items may have the school insignia if one is available, but no other ornamentation or design is permitted.                                       NO HOODED SWEATSHIRTS are permitted except school approved “spirit wear” hoodies. 

Jackets, coats and other outerwear are not considered uniform attire and should be stored during the school day in a cubby or classroom

•  All shoes must be enclosed and fastened/tied properly. No Heelys, flip-flops, toe shoes or "Croc" type of shoes.
•  Tights, leggings hose, or socks may be worn under an appropriate length skirt or dress. Tights and socks must be solid navy, black or white with no design. Hose without design may be worn. Tights or leggings may not be worn as an outer garment.
•  Solid colored sweaters, vests or sweatshirts may be worn over uniform shirts as long as there is no design or ornamentation. Only "School Spirit" hooded sweatshirts may be worn. No hoods may be worn inside the building. 
• Hooded sweatshirts are not allowed except for school-approved "spirit-wear" hooded sweatshirts 
•  No hats, caps, or sunglasses may be worn in the building.
•  Coats and jackets must be worn open/unzipped while in the building.  
•  Extreme hair color/style that causes a disruption or interferes with the learning environment will not be allowed.
•  Body piercing that causes a disruption or interferes with the learning environment will not be allowed.
•  No oversized/baggy garments.
•  No oversized jewelry and/or accessories with inappropriate emblems and/or writing may be worn.
•  Undergarments must not be visible.
•  School ID badges must be worn and visibly displayed while on campus and while attending all school sponsored field trips (grades 6 through 8). Badges must be worn on a lanyard around the student's neck and visibly displayed while the student is on campus, riding a school bus, at a bus stop, and attending all school-sponsored events and field trips. ID badges are not the personal property of the student and should not be defaced in any way (writing, stickers, etc) Students are issue an ID badge at no charge. Replacement ID badges cost $5.00 and must be purchased immediately if the original badge is lost, damaged or defaced.
•  Handbags, purses, pocketbooks, and similar items must be no larger than 8.5 X 11 inches (the size of a regular sheet of paper) 3 to 4 inches thick and must not be large enough to contain a regular sized textbook.
•  All book bags, tote bags, backpacks, athletic bags and all other similar items must have the contents clearly visible (see-through clear plastic or mesh). Any bag needed for after school events, that is not mesh or clear plastic, must be checked in at the beginning of the day and left with the student's teacher or with the student's coach during the school day.  
• Students assigned to alternative school sites and/or program other than their home school will wear the uniform consistent with the dress code of that site.​

School-approved “spirit wear” tops may be worn daily as designated by each school. Hooded sweatshirts are not allowed, except for the school-approved “spirit wear” hooded sweatshirts, which must be designated by each school. Hoods must not be worn on the head while inside the school building.

The PTO offers a selection of spirit wear for purchase. All Spirit Wear questions (placing an order, receiving merchandise, issues with order) should be directed to the Godley Station PTO at gssk8pto@gmail.com

On occasion, students may be permitted to attend school out of uniform. On such days, all dress code requirements still apply, including:

• Bottoms must meet appropriate lengths.
• Tops must be tucked in. Tops must not expose any of the midriff or lower back. Fishnet tops, halter tops, crop tops, tube tops, strapless tops, tank tops, spaghetti straps and other forms of transparent or revealing clothing are prohibited and should not be worn at any time.
• No item worn may appear to be torn, defaced, or written upon.
• Clothing must not be distracting, revealing or tight.
• Pajama bottoms are not allowed.
• Denim jeans are permitted on dress down days only.  The jeans must fit appropriately and shall not have holes, rips, tears, etc.
• Tights or leggings may not be worn as an outer garment.
